The botanical name for Tea Tree
oil is Melaleuca Alternifolia, Tea Tree oil
was 1st named by captain James Cook the explorer who discovered
Australia in 1775.
Melaleuca Alternifolia is a native plant to Australia and only
grown in Australia.
For Thousands of years the local native of
Australia was using Tea tree oil for the cure of many ailments to
the human body, such as Stomach ulsers, skin ailments,
ease of pain due to burns and infections to open wounds due to cuts
and battle wounds. |
The original inhabitants of Australia
used to boil the leaves of the plant and make tea for drinking or
used to rub the leaves to the effected are of the body and in no
time healing started to take place.
It wasn't until around 1775 that the oil from the Melaleuca plant
was taken back to England for similar uses.
This happened around the time that white men settled Australia.
Since 1775 Australians have used this oil for the same healing purposes.
And in the last 20 years it has become known
that Tea Tree oil when mixed with water can kill bacteria, mould
and fungi in air |
